Story Photo Assignment 1/14

Updated: Mar 5, 2020

Instead of showing you an example of what may be a story on campus using a photo of a rock or a bird passing by, I will recount and introduce an event I was present for using photos I have collected during winter-break.

December 25th, 2019.

Here I was, on some random street in the middle of Paris. I tried to invoke the idea of situational juxtaposition using this image. The subjects could be the figure sitting in the chair calmly; Wearing stylish, unaffordable clothing behind the spray-painted word "CRISIS". As a passerby, thinking about the timing, thinking about the date at which this took place. It was clear that the image painted a grander concept. My concluding thought process is that the place in which I took this was in a state of panic or "CRISIS" as this 'artist' so put it, and so the person who did this is trying to spread the message to not become distracted by the commercialism people become so accustomed to during the holidays to focus on what the country is truly enduring.
